The Main Rod for the Director's Monitor Cage v2 is a 6" long 15mm rod used to connect the Director's Monitor Cage v2 (Top Bracket Only) and Director's Monitor Cage v2 (Bottom Bracket Only). In addition to adding vertical height adjustment to the cage it adds mounting and swing away functionality to the Director's Monitor Cage v2 (Battery Plate Only) and Director's Monitor Cage v2 (Battery Plate Clamp Only).
