The camera’s unique sensor-block extension prompted a strategy that not only focuses on how to build a durable, lightweight, feature-rich cage system, but also enhances its modularity to integrate seamlessly with the camera’s multiple applications for effortless, tool-free transitions.
- It marks a unique shift in our approach to interpretation, design, and construction of premium camera accessories moving forward.
- It’s a showcase for Dominick Aiello’s first major collection as Wooden Camera’s Divisional Senior Director of Accessories after 25 years at Panavision.
- It’s a one-of-a-kind, expertly crafted support system for Sony’s VENICE 2 and Rialto 2—one of the industry’s most innovative and impressive cine cameras.
The Accessory System for Sony VENICE 2/Rialto 2 was designed from the ground up to be lightweight, modular, and fully integrated. It enhances the unique features and transitional workflow scenarios of the Sony VENICE 2/Rialto 2.

Quick-Release Top Plate for VENICE 2
Let’s start with the obvious: This is the only Top Plate that utilizes the dovetail on top of the camera for tool-less attachment, quick-release transitions, and an included safety release. It also sports an integrated spot for adding hook-and-loop accessories and additional mounting points at the rear end of the Top Plate. But what really makes this Top Plate stand out is the details that add functionality, like:
- A design that is lightweight and configurable
- The bolt pattern, with locating pin slots, allows for accessories to be mounted anywhere
- A total of 4 x ¼-20” screws can be used to lock down the Top Plate when quick release is not needed.

Tool-less design allows the Top Plate to quickly attach to the

ARCA Baseplate for VENICE 2
Compatible with any make of bridge plate, the ARCA Baseplate keeps the center of gravity low, allowing you to add shoulder pads or other accessories while maintaining optimal stability. Lens-centered front and rear Rod Clamps ensure extra security and the ability to mount accessories to the back of your build. This adds valuable real estate to your setup with the bonus of letting you dial in the right amount of counterbalance. A high-friction, double-locking system on the rod clamps prevent torque and rotation from your lens motors, intuitive access holes and integrated screw storage allow you to convert to a Rialto 2 setup without removing the Baseplate or misplacing the screws, and the elegant cutout pattern reduces weight without sacrificing strength.
Faceplate Cage System
Another one-of-a-kind feature, the Faceplate Cage attaches directly to Rialto 2 using the sensor block’s existing mounting points. DLC-coated stainless steel rosettes and an optional lens-centered Rod Clamp lets you create a standalone rig during handheld or gimbal use, if a baseplate is not used. Mount everything to the Faceplate and unlock the Top Plate and Baseplate to slide off an independent sensor cage with viewfinder and all accessories attached. The Faceplate includes reconfigurable swing-out tape hooks, a dedicated rod mounting point for lens control motors, an EVF cable clip, and more.
Ultra Handle System for VENICE 2
The modular design of this carry system lets you select the build that best suits your ergonomic needs and attaches to both the VENICE 2 and Rialto 2 Top Plates for one seamless, customizable handle that lets you carry the modules together or separately. Attach the optional lens-centered Rod Brackets to keep rods affixed to the handle instead of the Top Plate, and personalize the look with optional color rings.
ARRI LPL Mount v2
This premium dual-function LPL Mount routes either internal lens data or translated external lens data to the VENICE 2 camera. For external data, just select external data mode on the switch, connect a DCS Translator, and record all Preston MDR metadata based on the lens map in your handset.
Baseplate System (Sony Rialto, Rialto 2)
Seamlessly integrated with the VENICE 2 Baseplate, Riser, Ultra Carry Handle, and Rods, the Rialto 2 Baseplate can easily detach and reattach while maintaining the same low-profile footprint and optical center.
Top Plate (Sony Rialto, Rialto 2)
Like the Baseplate above, the Rialto 2 Top Plate is an extension of the VENICE 2 Top Plate, with the same optically-centered Top Rod Bracket and Ultra Carry Handle profile for effortless transitions while fully rigged.
D-Box™ Sony Rialto 2 Power Strip
The industry-benchmark D-Box for Sony Rialto Power Strip provides 2x two-pin LEMOs at 12V, two three-pin Fischers at 24V with R/S, and one D-Tap at 12V. Five self-securing closure cable ties attach the included Y cable to the Rialto Head cable, and a new offset bracket allows you to seamlessly mount this indispensable distro module on the Rialto 2’s new extruded form factor.
