Ty Evans starting making skate films in the 90s with Hi8 cameras and 16mm film at a time when on-camera audio was of poor quality. When he transitioned to the Sony VX1000, skateboarding sounds became much more clear and similar to how the human ear perceives them. After leaving the Sony VX1000 and moving to RED and other cameras, that iconic sound quality was lost and his only option was to re-dub his skate films with archived VX1000 sounds, taking many weeks of added work. With the introduction of the Wooden Camera VX Mic, Ty can now get back to capturing clear skateboarding sounds on location.
